Fab Food: DIY Texas Cheese Fries!

We love food here at Passenger156.com, especially fab food (lol).  We’re going to try something new with this fab food article.  ‘Texas Cheese Fries’ anyone?! Recently at lunch with my sister Cindy we stopped our shopping travels and adventures to enjoy a little lunch.  We decided to go to Chili’s and ordered from their fab 2 for $22 lunch/dinner menu.  Our appetizer was a half order of ‘Texas Cheese Fries’ with a side of homemade ranch dressing for dipping sauce.  They were absolutely delicious!!  We commented several times how delicious they were especially with the ranch sauce for dipping.  Even considered ordering more (lol).

So I decided to try and re-create them at home as a snack while watching the Rio Olympics.

‘Texas Cheese’ Fries ingredients are budget friendly!

To get started you’ll need:

  • French fries (your favorite frozen brand will do or you can cut your own)
  • Shredded cheese mix (I used Kraft’s Mexican 4 cheese blend)
  • Bacon bits
  • Chopped white onions
  • Jalapenos (optional)
  • LiteHouse Homestyle Ranch dressing as a dipping sauce (or your favorite…this is ours!)

Once you have all of your ingredients ready, build your ‘Texas Cheese Fries’ to your liking on a cookie sheet or baking tin depending upon the serving size.  I added a little extra shredded cheddar on top because the cheesier the better and I love cheese (lol).  Bake for 17-18 minutes at 425.  Plate your fries and add your dipping sauce.  I love LiteHouse’s dressings because they are rich and creamy with no preservatives just natural goodness.  Remove from the oven and congratulations… you have your very own version of ‘Texas Cheese Fries!”  This recipe was easy and a great snack for watching the Olympics but it’s also a great snack for after school, watching football or your favorite movie.  They would also be great option for a Superbowl party! #IJS  For more easy fab food recipes visit www.litehousefoods.com and www.kraftrecipes.com.

  1. Favorite thing I’ve ate on vacation was sweet potato corn bread while visiting Charleston SC. I have never tried to make it though…
