Fab Tech and Travel DC!

I love discovering and learning about new gadgets/tech and sharing them with our favorite travelers…YOU!  Recently I attended a fabulous ‘Tech and Travel DC’ event at the fabulous Willard Intercontinental hotel.  I learned about a lot of fabulous new tech that will make all of our summer (daily and personal) travels much easier.

In addition to participating in an insider tour of the fabulous Willard hotel we were also treated to an amazing and delicious lunch.  We’ll talk more about the lunch and the beautiful and historic Willard Intercontinental hotel in another article.  Now, let’s jump into the exciting new tech from the event.

Here are a few of the fabulous items I was introduced to at the ‘Tech & Travel DC’ event…

  • Orbit! If you’re the traveler that loses his/her keys and/or cell phone a lot, the ‘Orbit’ is for you! ‘Orbit’ is a remote that you attach to your keys and/or cell phone.  After you download the free app, you can then track you phone/keys.  ‘Orbit’ works up to 30m/100ft and the last seen location shows up on the map in app.  My favorite feature is that the ‘Orbit’ also doubles as a selfie remote.  Cool, right?!  Don’t worry if you drop it in the sink, it’s splash proof.  For more information, please visit HBUTLER
  • Waka Waka power bank! Y’all know I love a fabulous power bank and this one is perfect for the adventure/nature travelers.  You’re asking yourself why, Kirstin?  It’s solar powered!  Appropriately named, ‘Waka Waka’ means shine bright in Swahili.  After a full charge, a single day in the sun, ‘Waka Waka’ will charge any cell phone and provide 150 hours of bright light.   The other fabulous feature, with each purchase a ‘Waka Waka’ you’ll also be giving one to someone in need in a developing country.  #Fabulous For more information, please visit www.Waka-Waka.com
  • JVC TinyPhones headphones. Headphones are a great way to keep your kids entertained in-flight or on roadtrips.  I love them because they keep me from having to hear the favorite Sesame Street song of the month on a constant loop (lol).  JVC TinyPHones are made just for the little travelers (3 years and up).  There cute but more importantly they’re volume limiting.  This means they’ll protect their little ears no matter how loud they turn up the device they’re listening to or watching by keeping the audio to a preset safe level.   #LovesIt I needed a pair of these growing up (lol).  Click here to learn more about the JVC TinyPhones.
  • Elektronista cross body digital clutch/organizer! A great bag/purse is essential for travel.  The ‘Elektronista’ by Knomo London is a game changer.  Not only is it a cute leather cross body bag it doubles as a charging station.  That’s right, the ‘Elektronista’ has a built-in charger.  Never worry about finding a charging station again while traveling because your purse is your charging station.  #Fabulous  Your credit cards and money will be super organized with all the fabulous compartments. The ‘Elektronista’ is the perfect travel accessory.  #TravelEssentials Click here for more information or to order.

  7. Volume limiting headphones were a must when mine were small. These days they limit the volume on their own. Great travel accessories!
