We Test Drove the All-New 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring model @ the #WAPARally and It’s Great!
Since its introduction in 1976, the Honda Accord has been a staple on America’s roads. It’s an extremely popular mid-size sedan known for its legendary reliability. The new Honda Accord has paired a sleek new body style with great performance to accompany its legendary reliability.
Let’s take a look at the all-new Honda Accord…
First, we must admit we really like the new body style on the 2018 Honda Accord. The Accord has for the most part been an attractive looking car, but this model is sleek, sexy and very sporty.
Performance wise, the new ‘2.0 Touring’ edition delivers an impressive 252 hp. As we like to say this ‘baby has some get up and go (lol).’ In addition to speed and looks, the Accord has some pretty awesome safety features. They include: adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist system, lane departure warning and driver attention monitor. The driver attention monitor alerts the driver (via message in the instrument cluster or vibration in the steering wheel) if the vehicle thinks you need a break due to steering input/lack thereof or fatigue. We love this safety feature!
Our other favorite features are all tech related. I love a great heads-up display and the Accord has a fabulous 6-inch display with traffic sign recognition (TSR). This means it will display the posted traffic/speed limit signs in the heads-up display. This will help me avoid a speeding ticket (lol). This is a first-time feature for the Honda Accord and we are so here for it! Previously I’ve only seen this in high end luxury cars.
The HD touch screen display is also fabulous and its very user friendly. But, my favorite feature is the wireless charging station for smartphones and it’s only available in the ‘touring’ model. Say bye-bye to those cigarette lighter chargers & cords! This is another feature I’m very happy to see becoming popular in more auto brands. I have only seen this before in a luxury full-size SUV.
The 2018 Accord (all trims) also has a rear-view camera with rear cross traffic alert. Check it out in this video…
Before we go, here are a few important numbers:
Price tested: $35,800 | Fuel economy: 23 city/34 hwy |Warranty: 3 years/36,000 mile limited warranty
