That’s right! A fabulous new destination has arrived and it’s right in Washington, D.C.’s backyard. We’re talking about the exciting new hotel/resort and casino…MGM National Harbor.

MGM National Harbor ~ Terrace View
It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally here! We were excited to bring you the news that MGM had won the bid to build a fab new resort & casino in Prince Georges County Maryland. We are now equally as excited to tell you that the MGM National Harbor officially opens December 8th! My Mother (the family gambler lol), Carrie Lee Fuller would have absolutely loved having a Las Vegas style resort and casino a short drive away from her house in D.C. I’m going to have to go and play the slots in her honor (lol).
Take a look at the proposal video. You have to see it in person. When driving by, it’s breathtaking.
So what can we expect at the MGM National Harbor?
First and foremost we can expect a popular nightlife casino. MGM National Harbor will definitely have the latest slot machines, table games and of course a poker room or two. The resort will be home to 6 fabulous restaurants including restaurants by celebrity chefs Marcus Samuelsson, Jose Andres and the Voltaggio Brothers who are famous for their steak houses.
We can also expect gorgeous state of the art suites for guests to enjoy after a day/night of gambling, shopping and dining.

Executive Corner Suite
In addition to being the place to stay for a fabulous weekend getaway, it’s also the place to go for a fabulous Vegas style show. Upcoming headliners include Boys II Men (12/15 my birthday btw), Bruno Mars (12/27), Duran Duran (12/31 & 1/1/17), comedian Jim Gaffigan 1/6/17 & 1/7/17) and the legendary Lionel Richie (12/22). Just announced…ZZ Top on March 5th 2017. Don’t laugh y’all, I’m a confessed 80’s music baby. Tickets for shows are already on sale.

The Theater at the MGM National Harbor
I am excited to visit the entire resort but the foodie in me is super excited about my favorite celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson’s newest restaurant ‘Marcus!’ I know it’s going to be fabulous. For more information or to make a room or restaurant reservation, please visit www.mgmnationalharbor.com.
What are you most excited to experience in Maryland’s new resort and casino, the shows, the luxurious suites, the fab restaurants or the casino?
Be Happy. Be Fabulous. Be Well Traveled.

Oh it’s time to take a trip because this looks so nice! I am putting this on my travel list for next summer which is good because I was on my way through to Washington anyway

Aahh! A restaurant from the Voltaggio brothers! I fell in love with them during Top Chef and still get slightly emotional about that finale. It was really one of THE best seasons ever. I plan on going back north for the holidays and seeing that Bruno Mars is performing hmm… I might have a reason to check this out. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m excited to see my county thriving. I know it will be hella pack and a bit chaotic for a while. At some point I want to take in a show. I know they are selling out tickets left and right.

Hey Kirstin, this is exciting! I have relatives who love to gamble, so we’ll have to take them there when they visit the East Coast. Great post!

I would be looking forward to the opening of this facility as well. It is beautiful. Marcus Samuelson is a chef I really like so I will have to try his restaurant if it is open when I visit Maryland next time.
