I Drove A Rolls Royce Dawn!

I drove a Rolls Royce Dawn and it was such a reality TV star moment!

I recently had the pleasure of attending the 2016 WAPA Rally on Kent Island.  The event was fabulous and I got to live the dream and drive a 2017 Rolls Royce Dawn! I felt so Marjorie Harvey & Kris Jenner-ish! LOL

The WAPA (Washington Automotive Press Association) rally is an annual event that is a car lover’s dream come true.  It’s a fun fabulous day of cars ranging from the everyday car to luxury dream cars.  This years’ event was host to 50+ wonderful cars including the Acura MDX, McLaren 570S, the Range Rover Evoque, the Kia Cadenza, the Mercedes C300 coupe and the ultimate luxury car…the Rolls Royce Dawn.  It’s definitely road trip ready!

I must admit that when I walked up to it and no one was waiting to drive it, I felt like the lady in the old Ikea commercial (who can’t believe the great sale) where she yells to her husband, “start the car!”

Here are a few fabulous things you should know about the Rolls Royce Dawn:

  • Patience is a virtue! You’ll need a little patience to own one of these beauties.  It takes approximately 3 months (60 pairs of hands & 450+ hours to craft) to build and it’s a custom order.  No, you can’t go to a dealership and pick out a new one from an assortment on the back lot. In my commercial voice “that’s not how any of this works.” (lol)  You can pick out your options and totally build your Rolls to fit your heart’s desire.  Base price is $350,000.  Did I mention that’s it hand built? True craftsmanship!
  • Unparalleled luxury. Now when I think of luxury automobiles, the ‘Dawn’ will immediately come to mind. The interior surpasses any that I’ve experienced to date.  The attention to detail is amazing and the performance, well let’s just say it doesn’t ride, it floats down the road.  The heads up display shows your current speed along with an image of the posted speed limit sign of the road your traveling.

  • Unique features! The available options include embroidered headrests and lambs’ wool floor mats.  Who doesn’t love lambs’ wool floor mats? (lol) You can even pick the color scheme of the trademark umbrellas that are stored in the doors.  BTW it has suicide doors that close with a touch of a button.  #Fabulous  I love this car!
