The ‘Waze’ app now has alerts that pop up to remind you of precious cargo!

‘Waze’ is one of our favorite navigation apps and has a new lifesaving feature.  It’s affectionately called the superhero of navigation apps.  It’s best known for getting you to your destination via a quick main route.  Now it’s going to be known for a totally different reason.

‘Waze’ is also great for providing alternate routes based on real-time information from fellow drivers.  The real-time info gives drivers a ‘heads up’ notification of police activity and road hazards.  I personally love the in app messaging features that you can use to share updates with family and friends.

‘Waze’ has a new fabulous feature that will literally help save lives.  Every summer we hear the heartbreaking stories of children who die after being mistakenly left behind in cars.  Per the website, 27 children have died in 2016 from heat strokes after being left in cars.  ‘Waze’ has a new feature that will literally help save childrens’ lives.  The ‘Waze child reminders’ feature was launched in early August and it’s the perfect solution to this unfortunate problem.

You can even customize the reminder with your child’s name. A yellow hazard triangle pops up once you arrive at your destination to remind you to check your car before exiting.  If you don’t have kids you can use it as a reminder for your pets.  The reminder is also available in several languages.  English, French, Spanish to name a few.

Since we are a smartphone based society, this new feature in the ‘Waze’ app is a wonderful idea.  It’s back-to-school season in many cities, so this new feature is right on time.  Download it today!

For more information, please visit  It’s available in both the iTunes app store and Google Play. Remember ‘Waze’ is our favorite kind of travel app, it’s totally FREE!

Do you think this is a good solution to this sad and unfortunate problem?

  1. WOW! I love the app and have been using it since last summer. It is sad that they felt the need to add this due to other people being irresponsible.

  2. I love this idea! My kids are big, but I remember how easily you can get distracted with babies and how quietly they sleep in the car.

  4. You’re right that is a sad and unfortunate situation and I truly hope this app will help. It’s kinda sad to think that some pay so much attention to their phone that they need an app to remind them that their kids are in the car, though. However, its better to be safe than sorry.

  11. I think it’s an awesome reminder. I remember seeing it on the app and being confused at first since I don’t have any children. I think the app got the memo though because it hasn’t asked me again.
